There was a bomb scare, yesterday morning, at the Government Primary School, Calabar, Cross River State, as the former Senate Leader, Chief Victor Ndoma-Egba, and over 1,000 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), leaders and their supporters were formally received into the fold of All Progressives Congress (APC).

Yesterday morning, threatening text messages like, ‘Police uncover bomb at venue of today’s APC rally in Calabar,’ ‘Bomb scare at APC rally venue in Calabar,’ made the rounds in the state.

However, the police dismissed speculation of bomb scare, but maintained heavy security at the jammed venue of the ceremony, which ended peacefully.

National Chairman of APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, was grateful for the turn out, saying it showed the state was a progressive one.
