Three-Year-Old Bright Oluwadarasimi Etame, who is diagnosed of a heart disease, needs between N1.8 to N2 million for heart surgery in India.

The echocardiography report from Biket Medical Centre, Osogbo, in Osun State, signed by the Medical Director, Dr. Adenle A. on August 31, 2015, revealed that the 26 months old Etame then, was suffering from “large membranous ventricular septal defect, severe pulmonary stenosis and infundibular stenosis.”

While subsequent medical report from the State Specialist Hospital, Akure with Reference Number: SSHA/592/1375 dated October 9, 2015 declared “she is suffering from Cyanotic Congenital Heart disease, characterised by the aforementioned infections.”
As stated by the SMO of the Department of Surgery, SSHA, Dr. Ayeni O. in his report, “she will benefit from surgical intervention abroad. The cost estimate of treatment and trips is put at N3.5 million naira.”

The proforma invoice from MedWorld India indicated that baby Etame is suffering from Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) and will be treated in Fortis Hospital by Dr. Sandeep Attawar.
According to the report signed by Dr. Surbhi Suden on September 4, 2015, the surgery estimate was charged between $4800—5300, and accommodation for two weeks at $30 per day, medication $100, service charge $500 summed up the grand total to between $5820—$6320 before the increase in foreign exchange rate.
