CENCOD holds democracy lecture

The Centre for Constitutionalism and Demilitarisation (CENCOD) holds its Annual Democracy Lecture (ADL) tomorrow, December 2, 2017, 11 am at Right House, 43 Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.

This year’s lecture, 15th in the lecture series that began in 2003, will be delivered by Prof. Bolaji Omitola, Department of Political Science, Osun State University. His lecture which is titled, ‘Leadership and Governance Challenge in Africa: Prospects for the Future’ will be chaired by Mr. Innocent Chukwuma, Representatives, Ford Foundation, West Africa.

CENCOD’s democracy lecture is designed to encourage democratic discourse and foreground issues that are related to peace, democracy and development in Nigeria and Africa as whole. The lecture has featured in the past prominent African scholars, namely, Professors Adebayo Williams, Kelechi Kalu, Nzongola Ntalaja, David Simon and Babatunde Zak-Williams, Rita Abrahamsen, Sarah Bracking, Sat Obiyan and Drs. Jonathan Seglow and Emmanuel Remi Aiyede.

However, this year’s lecture will attract a mixed audience of students, academics, journalists, civil society leaders, state actors and diplomats.
