Lagos-based cleric and General Overseer of The General Christian Charismatic Revival Ministry, Pastor Simon Onyeananam, has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Muhammadu Buhari as he endeavours to steer the country out of its present economic woes.

According to him, there is no hope in Nigeria or anywhere else but in Jesus Christ, “because the situation is no longer whether you are making money or government is putting things right or not.

“The problem is not from Buhari, it is the end of the world and all these things must occur. Buhari is just unfortunate that he is the one around now when these things are being fulfilled since the Bible said it must surely come to pass.”

The cleric who was speaking on the church’s forthcoming yearly crusade titled: “My September to Remember 2016,” to be hosted at the church’s headquarters in Jakande Estate, Isolo, Lagos, said Nigerians need spiritual rebirth to survive the hard times.

Onyenanam said the programme, which starts on Friday, September 2 and runs through all the Fridays in the month from 10p.m. to 4a.m., was divinely ordained to bring hope to Nigerians, especially in this time of economic recession.

“This is no longer the issue of religion; we are talking about Nigerians being saved at the end of times. Nigerians should care less of what is happening in the country, they should rather be careful about their relationship with God, because the times we are now in call for sober reflection. ‘My September to Remember’ provides that opportunity for Nigerians to seek spiritual rebirth and return to God,” he said.
