“Let me die the death of the righteous and my end to be like his,” was the message at the order of service of songs for Olorogun Senator Felix Ovuodoroye Ibru, which took place at Vining Hall, Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, GRA, Ikeja Thursday night.

The service was attended by several dignitaries including Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke, former Governor of Akwa, Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, former Director General, Internal Affairs, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi, former Bishop of Ife Diocese, Rt. Rev. Oluranti Odubogun among others. Ministering, Venerable Adegoke Oludare Agara said that death should not be regarded as the end of life.

He added that those that endeavour to live a righteous life despite the problems in the world today, would enjoy security, adding that peace would not elude those that believe in righteousness and live the godly life.

The service was solemn and full of lessons for the living to ensure they leave good legacies behind, after their earthly sojourn. He further assured that those who live righteous life would have eternal rest. He implored the congregation to choose the life of righteousness, which is attainable through faith and belief in God who is able to empower anyone that trusts in him to live the life.

Speaking, Rt. Revd. Abel Ajibodu, the Dean, Archbishop Vining Memorial Church, Diocese of Lagos and Bishop of Ile-Oluji, who represented the Bishop of the Diocese of Lagos West, Rt. Rev. James Odedeji, said the late Ibru touched lives while he lived and prayed for the family for grace to excel. The eldest son, Dr. Paul Ibru said the life of the father could be likened to that of a righteous one who at the end of his life, after living a life worthy of emulation gave his life fully to the Lord.
