The Congress of Northern Nigerian Christians (CNNC), yesterday, called on Christian leaders to organise special prayers to end the killing of innocent persons by terrorists.The Congress, which tasked clerics to hold open-air services on an appointed day, seeking God’s protection against the slaughter, urged former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon, to lead the programme. 

The body also called on Christian leaders in Nigeria to condemn the killings.In a statement by CNNC’s spokesperson, Larry Joseph Yammai, the group urged the Federal Government to take visible and practical steps to end the killings and destruction of property by armed herdsmen and Boko Haram.
