Court adjourns Uzor Kalu’s trial indefinitely
A Federal High Court, Lagos, yesterday adjourned indefinitely the trial of former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.
Kalu is facing N4.6b charge alongside his Commissioner for Finance, Udeh Jones Udeogu and a firm, Slok Nigeria Limited.
Justice Mohammed Idris, who has been elevated to the court of appeal but allowed to conclude the trial, informed lawyers and other litigants that since it was clear that the fiat given to him by the President of the Court of Appeal to adjudicate on the case will elapse by month end (September 30), it will be of no use for him to continue with a case that he will not be able to complete.
He, thereafter, announced the indefinite adjournment of the matter to enable him resume fully at the appellate court.
