Traditional rulers in Delta State have supported the second term ambition of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and rotation of the governorship slot and other key elective positions among the state’s three senatorial districts.

After the council of traditional rulers’ meeting in Asaba, the royal fathers argued that the zoning arrangement has engendered mutual trust, understanding, unity, peaceful co-existence and promoted sense of belonging.

In a communiqué read by Chairman of council, Obi of Owa, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor 11 said: “We have unanimously resolved to support the re-election of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for a second term because he has delivered and performed excellently in the administration of the state”

The traditional rulers also passed a vote of confidence on the governor for doing the state proud in terms of development. They also commended the state government for adopting proactive measures to mitigate the effects of flood on victims in the various Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps across the state, urging Federal and State Governments to put in place a permanent and enduring panacea to the menace of flood in coastal communities across the country.

They also tasked the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on federal roads in Delta State, which had become death traps for motorists and other road users.
