DSS detains five personnel over FGGC Calabar invasion
Five personnel of the Department of State Services (DSS) have been detained over an alleged brutality on the teachers of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Calabar.
Sources in DSS said the affected personnel were arrested same day of the incident as their action was said to be against the rules and regulations of the service and the need to instill sanity in the system.
The sources further stated that their arrest and detention was an indication that the DSS has officially commenced investigations into the matter, in line with its set out standards to check acts of misconduct.
The sources said: “As we speak, five of our security personnel are in detention because we have commenced investigation into the incident that happened in the federal girls school.
“The DSS remains a law-abiding organisation and will never condone any act of lawlessness from any of its men and officers.”The state Director of DSS, Mr. Fubara Duke declined comment on the matter.
