Edeoga Seeks Better Life For Women

WOMEN advocates have call for concerted efforts to address the challenges facing women and girls from attaining their full potentials.

who made the plea while speaking at the fundraising ceremony of the Center Events Center, stated that challenges facing women were enormous.

Quoting a report accredited to the United Nations, Edeoga stated that 15 million girls would be forced into marriage this year alone.

Edeoga added although government can make things happen through political will and unwavering leadership vis-a-vis increased investment in the agenda for women and girls, women should also make things happen by pushing men to consider things they have not considered.

“ Emphatically, we cannot successfully address sustenance development, if we constrain the potential of half of the world’s population, which women represent. We cannot win if we leave half of the team out of the game “, Edeoga, adding “Being pushy, provided one is not offensive, can be an effective technique to make things happen”.

She stated that the planned Events Center, which is expected to gulp N14 million, will serve as ground for training on entrepreneurship development and capacity building for women and girls in the host communities.
