The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has removed Mr. Benedict Peters’ name from the wanted persons’ list published on the official website of the commission.

The delisting of the Executive Vice Chairman of AITEO Group, came about seven months after an Abuja High Court, Bwari, presided by Justice Othman Musa, declared the action unconstitutional and ordered the commission to remove the name from its list.

Justice Othman Musa of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Bwari Division, had in a judgment delivered on March 22, 2018 ordered the removal of Peters’ name from the list on the ground that such action could only be effected with a valid court order.

The order was not obeyed until yesterday when the agency removed Peters’ name from the list of wanted persons on its website.
