Ekiti 2018: INEC distribute election materials
Less than 48hours to when the people of Ekiti State will be going to the poll to elect a new governor, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has begun distribution of election materials to the 16 local government areas (LGAs) in the state.
“The distribution was witnessed by National Commissioners, RECs, Media, Security and Party Agents,” INEC said in a Twitter post on Thursday.
The Commission said all vehicles conveying “sensitive materials for distribution to 16 LGAs” in the state for the election are being tracked “o locations real-time from departure, en route and arrival” to prevent diversion of the materials.
It said the tracking of the vehicles was an innovation to further strengthened the integrity of the outcome of the election, which is billed to be a two-horse race between All Progressives Congress and People’s Democratic Party.
