The Federal Government has asked the Federal High Court, Abuja to dismiss a suit filed by two former All Progressives Congress (APC) senators, Rabiu Ibrahim Adebayo and Isa Hamma Misau, to stop the Senate from reconvening without the notice of its president, Bukola Saraki.

The plaintiffs are now of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a notice of preliminary objection, the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), asked the court to dismiss the action for want of jurisdiction.

The AGF, who is the 10th defendant in the suit, told the court that the plaintiffs lacked the locus standi to institute the action, as they had reportedly failed to show any wrongdoing of the defendant.
