Flags to fly at half-mast to honour Cross River chief judge
The Cross River State government has ordered all flags to be flown at half-mast for seven days in honour of the late Chief Judge, Justice Okoi Ikpi Itam.
The Commissioner for Information, Mrs. Rosemary Archibong announced this in Calabar, the state capital at the weekend.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor and Senior Special Assistant, Media, Mr. Christian Ita described the late Itam as “a man who would always go for the option of peace. He would always tell you that he is here for the interest of unity.”
Governor Ben Ayade commended Itam for the cordial relationship that existed between the executive and judiciary in the state.
He urged the family of the late chief judge and the people in the state to be consoled by the legacies he left behind.
