Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta

The lawyer representing the bursar of Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Mr. Moses Ilesanmi in the ongoing suit between the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olusola Oyewole and the Pro-Chancellor, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe has refuted a report in The Guardian newspaper on the proceedings at an Abeokuta High Court on Friday, November, 25, 2016.

The Guardian reported on Saturday, November 26, 2016 that the court did not grant Ilesanmi bail because his counsel, Adedamola Lapite arrived late to court.

But in a statement, the lawyer said he rather arrived the court long before it resumed sitting.

He said: “As counsel to the third accused person (Ilesanmi), I appeared on behalf of my client on the said day long before the court resumed session at 9:00a.m. I never arrived the court late, and the court records will bear my assertion out.”
