The Guardian gathered that the late Mustapha invited the suspect to help him rear cows given to him by someone, so that he could concentrate on rearing goats that were given to him by the same man.

A 23-year-old herdsman, identified as Umar Muhammad, has been beheaded by his 22-year-old friend, Mustapha Muhammed, over argument on missing cows.

The Guardian gathered that the late Mustapha invited the suspect to help him rear cows given to him by someone, so that he could concentrate on rearing goats that were given to him by the same man.

It was learnt that the suspect sold a cow without his friend’s consent, which resulted in hot argument between them last Thursday.

Late Mustapha threatened to report him to the real owner of the cows; because that was not the first time he had sold cows without the owner’s consent.

A source informed newsmen that the suspect trailed late Mustapha to an uncompleted building along Kalgo last Friday, where they usually rest during the day and attacked him with an axe.

“He returned home last Friday without his friend. When we asked him the whereabouts of his friend, he told us that he left him in the bush.

“We started searching, until we found his decomposing body without the head in the building. After holding him responsible for the crime, he later took us to where he buried his head, three days after he killed his friend,” the source said.

While confirming the incident, the Police Public Relationship Officer (PPRO) of Kebbi State Police Command, DSP Suleiman Mustapha, confirmed the incident and arrest of the suspect.
