The Imo state branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has faulted the dissolution of the Imo Judicial Service Commission (JSC), by the state governor, Rochas Okorocha.

The Imo state branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has faulted the dissolution of the Imo Judicial Service Commission (JSC), by the state governor, Rochas Okorocha.
The governor had, in a statement on Thursday, signed by his Principal Secretary, Dr. Paschal Obi, dissolved the body, forwarding a list of statutory members (nominees), to the Imo House of Assembly, for legislative action.
In a statement issued at the weekend by the state Chairman of the NBA, Lawrence Nwakaete, the bar faulted the governor’s action, maintaining that it was wrong for the governor to dissolve the commission, when its tenure has not expired, saying that the governor had no power to do so.
