THE Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is working out plans to accommodate physically challenged persons in its future electoral processes.

To actualise this, INEC yesterday in Calabar organised a one-day South-South zonal consultative meeting on the need to open up electoral space for citizens including People Living With Disabilities (PWDs).

The Resident Electoral Commissioner for Cross River, Mrs. Gesila Khan, said the meeting considered the draft policy for the development of a PWD Access Policy for the commission.

The INEC Commissioner said that the meeting was timely following the developing plans and process for the electoral cycle that would culminate in the 2019 general elections.
