The governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has said the credible outcome of yesterday’s local government election was more important than the emergence of winners.

The governor said this after casting his vote in his ward at Unguwar Sarki. “I really don’t care about wins or loses, as long as it was credible, free and fair,” he said.

The governor, accompanied by some top government officials, arrived his polling unit at 12:47 p.m., got accredited and then voted at exactly 1:09 p.m.

It was gathered that there were challenges at the commencement of the exercise, such as late arrival of materials and mix-up in staff deployment to polling centres.

However, the elections in Kaura and Jaba Local Governments of Southern Kaduna were successful, despite earlier report that elections would not hold there due to some security issues.
