THE National Commissioner of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in charge of Kogi, Nasarawa and Plateau states, Dr Abdulkadir Oniyanei, has challenged the national Assembly members – elect in Kogi State to honour the mandate given to them by the electorate by making laws that will positively impact on the lives of the people.

Oniyanei gave the charge yesterday in Lokoja during the presentation of certificates of return to candidates of political parties that won elections into the senate and house of representative seats in the state.

According to him, the opportunity offer by the electorate is to enable them serve the people through motions and bills that will enhance their living standard.

He advised them not to involve in selfish aggrandizement that could tarnish their image.

While advising that they should see themselves as people servants, the national commissioner urged them to imbibe the spirit of selfless service to their respective constituencies.
