THE Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of turning the state into a private estate.

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of turning the state into a private estate.

The state chairman of the PDP, Mr. Moshood Salvador, declared this yesterday at a media forum.

He urged the electorate to rescue the state from the ‘grip and greed’ of some political cabal in the APC.

It further called on the people to reject Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in the 2019 election.

The PDP described the ruling pattern of the APC in Lagos since 1999, as not different from running a personal estate.

According to Salvador, the level of deception in the orchestrated performance and propaganda does not correspond with the volume of income accruable to the state.

He cited the under-utilised internally generated revenue, monthly federal allocation; loans obtained by the government and other financial opportunities as enough reasons to vote out Ambode in 2019.

Salvador implored the people to obtain their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to be able to remove the ruling party.

He said: “The Ambode government recently sold a dummy to the people of Lagos when he arbitrarily increased the Land Use Charge (LUC).

But, the APC spokesman, Joe Igbokwe dismissed the accusations.

He said the PDP was using the issue of the land use charge to seek relevance.

He explained: “Ambode is setting the pace in result-oriented governance and quick and classy deliverance.

“The governor is driven by the resolve to continue the landmark infrastructural development in the state.”
