Lagos lawmaker, Kazeem Alimi, dies at 50

A member of the Lagos House of Assembly, Mr Kazeem Alimi, representing Eti-Osa Constituency I, is dead.

The Chairman, House Committee on Information and Strategy, Mr Tunde Braimoh, confirmed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Tuesday.

Braimoh said the late lawmaker, who was the Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Community Affairs, passed on at the at the Lagos State Teaching Hospital (LASUTH). He was aged 50.

Braimoh commiserated with the family members on the death of the lawmaker and the entire people of the Eti-Osa on behalf of his colleagues.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports Alimi is a second term lawmaker in the House.

In a statement signed by Mr Musbau Rasak, the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker of the House, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, the lawmaker died after a brief illness.

It said that Alimi’s death came two weeks after his 50th birthday.

He is survived by his wife and children.
