Magistrate’s Court remands three robbery suspects in Katsina State

Three men have landed themselves in prison on suspicion they were members of a robbery gang that terrorised residents of Funtua Local Council of Katsina State.

Abdullahi Buba, 22, Dahiru Abdullahi, 25, and Usman Lawal, 22, were rounded up late last month at the PC International Hotel, Funtua, by a police patrol team attached to the Central Police Station, in the council.

Police said they were arrested following their inability to give satisfactory accounts of themselves when accosted.

“They were strongly suspected to be among the gang of thieves that terrorise Funtua area,” the police told the Katsina Senior Magistrate’s Court, where they were arraigned on Friday.

They were charged with criminal conspiracy were said to be contrary to sections 96 and 306 of the penal code law.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Sani Ado said investigation was still in progress on the case, even as he pleaded for adjournment to another date when the case should come up for mention.

The Presiding Senior Magistrate, Mrs. Fadila Dikko adjourned the case to February 5, 2018, for mention.
