Ministry raises the alarm over fake recruitment of teachers
As unemployed graduates await the commencement of the recruitment of 500,000 Nigerians as classroom teachers nationwide, fraudsters have cashed in on the programme to defraud many, who are anxious to secure jobs.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja, said reports reaching the ministry, revealed that some illegal recruitment agencies are on the rampage, defrauding unsuspecting and vulnerable members of the public by collecting various sums of money and issuing them fake employment letters.
The permanent secretary said that the ministry is yet to commence the recruitment process of the 500,000 unemployed teachers, urging members of the public to disregard any information to the contrary.
