NAFOWA empowers widows, youths
No fewer than 110 women, comprising widows and youths have been empowered with skills and starter packs by the Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA).
NAFOWA National President and wife of the Nigerian Chief of Air Staff, Hajiya Hafsat Sadique-Abubakar, speaking at the closing ceremony of the seventh NAFOWA Skills and Vocational training programme in Benin, said out of the 110 beneficiaries, 102 were females, eight being men.
The president said the participants were trained on computer studies, tailoring, hairdressing, event planning, decoration and catering, and baking. Sadique-Abubakar disclosed that NAFOWA has trained over 1,500 participants across the country.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, represented by the AVM Muhammed Muhammed, the chief of policy and planning of the Nigerian Air Force, commended NAFOWA for the successful completion of the programme.Also speaking, wife of Edo State Governor, Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, commended NAFOWA for the initiative.
