A FOUNDATION based in Sango Ota, Ogun State, Oluwagbogo Foundation, has urged well meaning Nigerians and Corporate organizations to come to the aid of indigent but disabled children in need of medical assistance.

The founder of Oluwagbogo, Mrs. Afolabi Oluwatomisin, who spoke on the activities of the foundation since its incorporation on July 15, last year, said a lot of indigent and sick children in Nigeria are in dire need of medical assistance. She regretted that the foundation was not able to meet with the medical needs of so many indigent and sick children that approached it in the past one year due to lack of funds.

According to her, although the foundation has recorded many successes in the rehabilitation of disable and indigent children like baby Miracle, who was born with disability, baby Adam with cancer and baby Adaramoja, there are still many waiting for attention.

She, therefore, appealed for assistance to ensure that the children are not left to die in their precarious health conditions.

She said: “ Our foundation, a subsidiary of Divine Voice of Liberation Mission Inc. has been able to provide succour to many indigent Nigerian children that could have died from their ailments.”

“We decided to venture into health and environmental issues because of our dedication to see that Nigerians are in better health,” she added.

“Our mission is to assist in the funding of the treatment of disabled and other related accidents, follow up such beneficiaries to ensure compliance with treatment regiment as well as carry out health education of the public and create awareness about them,” she added.

Apart from that Mrs. Oluwatomisin said the foundation also has the mandate of helping the needy spiritually and materially by giving hope to the hopeless, screening sample target population for underlying conditions which may lead to disability and other related accidents in order to generate more awareness and to link suspected cases to nearby healthcare institutions.
