TWO undergraduates of University of Lagos(UNILAG) and Odumegwu Ojukwu University were awarded annual Scholarships worth N150,000 each by the Okoye’s dynasty of Anambra State during the launching of the book, Prophetic Messages on Nigeria at Golden Tulip hotels, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos recently.

The book launch, which was planned to mark the golden jubilee celebrations of Architect Emeka Okoye, Chairman of AC Yafeng West Africa, was attended by dignitaries from the built environment, education and financial sectors.

The celebrant and the brain behind the award, Emeka Okoye who also doubled as the founder of Priests and Kings International fellowship said the scholarships were given to the students on state friendly relationship basis. The awardees were Suliat Oluwafolakemi Olarinde, a 300 level student of Linguistics at the University of Lagos and Akachukwu Obeleagu of Odumegwu Ojukwu University of Anambra state.

“This is just a symbolic presentation of the award. In honour of our late father, Chief Bennett Okoye, our family will be awarding these scholarships to deserving students ranging from the primary school to the university level. It’s our way of helping our children and youths of this country to achieving a better future and be relevant to the society,” he said.

Responding to the goodwill of the celebrant, one of the awardees, Folakemi expresses her gratitude to the family and promised not to let them down so that others could also be beneficiaries of the same privileges.

The Chief launcher of the book, Mr. Hakeem Ogunniran who was represented by Prince Oby recommended the book for every Nigerian that aspires to live above board and wants to fit in into the next dispensation of this nation. Pastor Phillip Igbinijesu of the Word Assembly ministries who reviewed the book and anchor the launch stated that the message is timely and divine. ‘’What should be paramount to us now is not who is qualified to be voted for but who can lead this country to the purpose and destination that God has for it.’’

The author of the book who has traversed successfully diverse business lines at international levels said God has made Nigeria to be the goldmine of the whole world and many nations shall fly into it but Nigerians themselves must be prepared and take advantage of the seven years of prosperity, otherwise those who straddles the fence will eventually become slaves in their motherland.

He admonished the students that were granted the scholarship to be focused and smart and live a morally acceptable life to shine as role models for their generation. Members of the Priests and Kings from all over the country attended the three-day event.
