FORMER governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Bayo Alao-Akala, has criticised a report credited to Governor Abiola Ajimobi, accusing him as having wasted billions of naira during his last week in office in 2011.

Akala, who decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party (LP), where he is now contesting next month’s governorship election, said Ajimobi was only been mischievous with such comments, insisting he (Akala) properly handed over to him (Ajimobi) in 2011.

“So, I wonder why he didn’t make any comment regarding my handover note at that time. Why is it now, almost four years after that he is now making comment?

“In any case, there was no contractor or anybody for that matter that my government owed. So, what money is he talking about? Was there any money missing? Is there any petition against my government about the finance of my government?

“This man (Ajimobi) is only jittery of my returning to Government House. He should not die before his death. I want him to be alive and well when he hands over to me. The more he makes such comments, the more he makes a hero out of me.

“His recent actions are symptomatic of a jittery man, scared of losing. Unfortunately, there is nothing he can do at this time. It is already late,” he stated.
