Ondo waves olive branch to aggrieved PDP members

THE Deputy Governor of Ondo State , Alhaji Ali Olanusi, has urged aggrieved members of the PDP to cooperate and work for the development of the party in the state.

Olanusi gave the advice on Wednesday while presiding over a meeting of the reconciliatory committee of the party in Owo Local Government Area of the state.

The deputy governor appealed to all aggrieved PDP aspirants to forget about their grievances and work together for the good of the party.

He stressed the need for members to resolve their grievances and work harmoniously to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan in February’s election.

“We need to be united and shun politics of bitterness for development to continue in our dear party so that we can win the forthcoming election.

” We don’t need to abandon the ruling party for any opposition party. If some PDP members dump the party to join other opposition parties, such members are selfish politicians.

“I believe that both the new and old members are now one big family under one umbrella, “he said.

Mr Alaba Isijola, a former Head of Service in the state, and Mrs Hellen Eniolorunda, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs, both advised the committee to ensure that old PDP members were carried along.

Earlier, the Ojomo-Oluda of Ijebu-Owo, Oba Kofoworola Oladoyinbo, had received the deputy governor in his palace.

He urged the people of the community to come out enmasse to collect their Permanent Voter Card and vote in the forthcoming elections.

Oladoyinbo enjoined the state government to expedite action on the completion of the Ijebu-Owo town hall and market as well as repair roads in the town which were in a deplorable condition.

NAN reports that the committee headed by the deputy governor has Mrs Aduke Olugboja, Chief Dele Akinyele and Dr Gbakinro Lunas as members.

Other members are Chief Leke Olokungboye, Dr Ibukun Omotehinse, Mr Alex Akinnadeju and Chief Francis Williams. (NAN)
