THE Delta State Police have arrested a policewoman over the lynching of a male colleague at Ogwashi Uku, Aniocha South Local Council of the state.

According to the Spokeswoman, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, the woman, a Sergeant whose name was given as Helen had a hand in the death of the policeman who was simply identified as Kelechi.

Mrs. Kalu said that the suspect is being held in custody along with her accomplices in the killing, which took place last Thursday.

She said: “The suspect has been arrested and detained along with other culprits who took part in the killing of the policeman. The case is currently under investigation.”

The spokeswoman did not give details of the circumstances surrounding the killing but a close source, however, explained that Helen and Kelechi were married but parted ways when they could no longer feel the same way.
Youths in the neighbourhood ran away for fear of arrest by the police.
