Vote Out PDP To Better Your Lots, ADC Presidential Candidate Charges IDPs

THE presidential candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Mani Ibrahim Ahmad yesterday lamented the deplorable condition of living of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja and urged them to vote out the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and vote in his party come February 14th elections in order to change their present predicament.

Dr. Ahmad who flagged off his presidential campaign at an IDP camp located in New Kuchingoro, Games Village, Abuja lamented that the IDPs did not deserve the present state in which they found themselves, stressing that this is the right time for them to take the right decision.

While addressing the IDPs who are majorly those who ran from the troubled North East region by the Boko Haram insurgency said that the insurgency has affected about three million people adding that that about 1.5 million are currently displaced.

“It is very worrisome and saddening that the insurgency in the North East has affected about three million Nigerians while about 1.5 million people are currently being displaced. The population of the IDPs in this country is more than the population of some African countries,” he said.

The ADC presidential candidate noted that he brought his campaign to the IDPs camp in order to identify with them and share their problems assuring them that if voted, he would find a lasting solution to the problem of insecurity as well as ensuring the safe return of all displaced persons to their homes.

His words: “Vote out the government and the opposition out of power, vote us in and we will change your situation.”  

He stressed further that government excesses must be reduced, and lamented that Nigeria spend one per cent as against 10 per cent of her GDP on education.

“We can’t create a generation of illiterate and expect the country to grow. We will improve the remuneration of teachers. “ Ahmad said.

Campaign Director of the party, Dr. Catherine Okafor said the IDPs need a change and cannot be apathetic to the Nigerian situation.
