The Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC) has suspended its passenger train service from Abuja to Kaduna on Monday and Tuesday because of the Eid el-Kabir public holidays.

The Nigerian Railways Corporation (NRC) has suspended its passenger train service from Abuja to Kaduna on Monday and Tuesday because of the Eid el-Kabir public holidays.

Yakub Mahmood, the Deputy Director, Public Relations of the NRC, made this known in Lagos on Saturday.

Mr. Mahmood said the period would also be used to carry out comprehensive maintenance of the train.

He assured passengers that the Abuja-Kaduna train service would resume on Wednesday.

“The corporation highly regrets any inconvenience this may cause our esteemed passengers,” he said.

The Abuja-Kaduna passengers train was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari in July.

It connects Idu in Abuja to Rigasa in Kaduna.

No! No!! No!!! A train service, commissioned less than four months ago by Mr. President, is suspended during peak of festive season for maintenance. Why do we always have Nigeria being made a laughing stock across the whole world? Heads must roll!

Mr. It did not say for maintenance. They are closing the service so that those who are not Muslims would not enjoy the service while the Muslims party.
The government also postponed Edo state election scheduled for September 10 so that Muslims can enjoy their holiday on September 12.
And someone would shout that Nigeria is not islamized.
So public servants abandon their duty posts so that they can take an elongated holiday.

Can you read? Take another look and read “Mr. Mahmood (Deputy Director, Public Relations of NRC) said the period would also be used for comprehensive maintenance of the train.” The excuse given by NRC is ridiculous and incredible; but it’s written in black and white. Your insinuation on religious motive is even more ridiculous. Someone opined security reason. If so, the NRC would be better off stating the truth!
