IT was all pomp and fanfare when Mrs. Zainab Grace Nnenne Enakhume was recently installed as the 33rd President of Rotary Club of Opebi at an investiture ceremony held at Lagos Country Club. She is the second woman to ascend the exalted office.
In her acceptance speech, she promised to move the club forward by carrying on from where her predecessor ended. Enakhume, who lauded the club’s theme for her service year, 2015-2016: “Be a gift to the world,” expressed commitment to membership development during her tenure.
She enumerated some of the projects the club had carried out in the past, which she would build upon, to include: provision of borehole to Police College, Ikeja, free eye surgery for members of the community, provision of borehole to Mechanic Village, Ogba, presentation of computers to the Pacelli School for the Blind, construction of library extension, presentation of computers to Opebi Grammar School as well as presentation of wheelchairs to physically challenged persons in the community among others.
Enakhume vowed to continue to impact on the less privileged in the community.
