Party stalwarts reaffirm support for Ortom’s re-election
Over 250 stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State have reaffirmed their support for the re-election of Governor Samuel Ortom in the 2019 general election.
They made the declaration, yesterday, in a communiqué issued after a meeting by leaders of associations, non-governmental organisations, groups and political stalwarts at the Smile View Hotel, Makurdi, promising to mobilise grassroots support for the governor across the state, and pledging to stand by him in sunshine or rain.
Member of the National Assembly representing Katsina-Ala/Ukum/Logo constituency, Emmanuel Udende, and former Vice Chancellor, University of Mkar, Prof. Nancy Agber, signed for the Benue North East.
Former Makurdi Local Council chairman, Godwin Donko, and former Vice Chancellor, Benue State University, Prof. Akase Sorkaa, signed for the North West District.
Signatories for Benue South are member of the House of Representatives for Okpokwu/Ado/Ogbadibo constituency, Saleh Hassan, and former Minister of the Niger Delta, Sam Ode.
The loyalists reaffirmed confidence in Ortom's leadership. They also backed his position on the controversial issue of ranching.
The governor, represented by Udende, appealed to all the APC members to remain calm and united.
