Pastor Bakare’s mother dies at 108

The mother of the Serving Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, is dead. Madam Abigail Bakare passed on last Saturday at the age of 108 around 2:00p.m.The Guardian learnt that she died in the presence of her grandchildren and close family relations.

The mother of the Serving Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, is dead. Madam Abigail Bakare passed on last Saturday at the age of 108 around 2:00p.m.The Guardian learnt that she died in the presence of her grandchildren and close family relations. Bakare, the activist cum preacher, is the only surviving son of the trader, who was a practising Muslim until she converted to Christianity.She ran a thriving trade in African dye fabrics popularly called Adire.

Mama Bakare was reputed to have had a profound influence on the life of the famous televangelist as documented in numerous anecdotes, tributes and testaments of the preacher in the past three decades of ministering. On many occasions, the minister who has had a fulfilling career in law practice before taking to full-time ministry has eulogized his mother as the pillar of his success from the cradle till date.
