Police arrest Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe in Osun
Some policemen attached to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Osogbo, Osun State, yesterday arrested a popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, for allegedly keeping a police cap in her car.
Aigbe, who at the point of her arrest was being driven by a young man at about 4:40p.m. in a Honda car, was chased by the policemen after sighting the police cap in the gold-coloured vehicle.
The policemen caught up with the Yoruba film actress at the popular Olaiya junction in Osogbo, while her car was thoroughly searched and sporadic gunshots were fired during the process.
Aigbe was ordered to alight from the car but her personality attracted a crowd who struggled to catch a glimpse of her when she was being quizzed by four policemen. The actress’s vehicle papers and phones were demanded and seized by the policemen.
The unruffled actress had put a call across to someone who spoke with one of the policemen before the vehicle papers and phone were returned to her.
Before the actress could leave the scene, another team of policemen stormed the area shooting sporadically, apparently to disperse the crowd.
The policemen had arrested Aigbe’s driver before ordering the actress to enter her car, while one of the policemen drove them along with the police team.
When contacted on the telephone, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, said the matter had not been reported to the state police command.

disgraceful cops
What makes them disgraceful? Is it right for a civilian to be in possession of a property belonging to any of the forces?? Things must be done right this time, and anybody who breaks the law, no matter who you are must pay for his or her crime, me and you inclusive…
Disgraceful how??
Another story line in the next Nollywood film.
We will review and take appropriate action.
