The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has graduated 25 trainees in plant maintenance and development at the Kaduna Refinery and Petrochemical Company (KPRC).

The participants, beneficiaries of PTDF’s Post Training Attachment Programme (PTA), were said to have undergone a six-month course on industrial welding, maintenance and construction.

Speaking at the passing out and presentation of certificates ceremony, PTDF Executive Secretary, Dr Aliyu Bello Gusau, urged KPRC to retain the new hands.

Commending the management of KRPC for supporting the initiative, Gusau said that the PTA initiative would avail players in the petroleum industry like KPRC the opportunity to engage and utilise the skills and services of the trainees in maintenance and development of their plants.

He added: “KPRC was gracious enough to accept quite a number of these people to come and have a practical experience. These have trained for about six months and they are graduating today. We are currently engaged with all the refineries, in addition to some key private sector organisations in the PTA programmes. We currently have 19 trainees in Warri and six as first batch in Port Harcourt refineries, in addition to the 25 we are graduating today.”
