Rivers notorious cultist dies in supremacy clash
There was jubilation in Emohua Local Council of Rivers State yesteday, as a notorious leader of a cult group operating within Egbeda and Ubimini communities, Mathias Igwe-Wordu, was shot dead.
The Guardian learnt that Igwe-Wordu, who was a dreaded leader of Iceland gang, was killed during a supremacy clash with a rival cult group in the area.
The slain cultist, an indigene of Ubimini, was killed while fighting a rival cult group.
Meanwhile, his death, according to a community source, has forced residents in the area to flee for fear of possible reprisals.
The source, which preferred anonymity, said the community received the news of Igwe-Wordu’s killing with mixed feelings.
Also, Chairman of Egbeda Community Development Committee, Ukwoha Omereji, who confirmed the development, said security has been beefed up in the community.
