Rotary Club donates furniture to Lagos school

The Rotary Club of Gbagada South has donated 40 chairs and tables to Mainland Primary School, Fadeyi, in its bid to replace dilapidated furniture discovered during one of its visits to the school.

District Governor, Rotn Kola Sodipe said during one of its unscheduled visit to the school an average of five chairs and tables were discovered in each classroom, which were inadequate.

“In pursuit of Rotary International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programme where the international organisation has invested in more than 1000 projects in over 100 countries, Rotary Club of Gbagada South, being one of the prominent clubs in District 9110 donated 40 chairs and tables to pupils between ages three and eight and six office chairs and tables to the Head Teacher of Mainland Primary School.”

President of the club, Rotn. Billiaminu Sanni, advised the Head Teacher and other teachers to ensure good maintenance and of the furniture.

Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Dr. Ganiyu Sopeyin, was represented at the event by Director, School Support Services, Mr. Ade Abatan.
