The operatives of the Lagos State Task Force have arrested eight suspected hoodlums over acts of vandalism. The suspects were said to have attacked and vandalised the operational vehicles of the task force along Idi-Oro, Mushin area of Lagos.

Those arrested in connection with the attack included 31-year-old Ahmed Gafar, 35-year-old Onuoha Cajetehan, 40-year-old Lateef Hamsat, 34-year-old Femi Adebayo, 40-year-old Bello Olasukanmi, 27-year-old Yusuf Kazim, 24-year-old Olalekan Alleluyah and 39-year-old Obina Emgba.

Confirming the arrest, Lagos Task Force Chairman, Olayinka Egbeyemi, a Superintendent of Police, said the miscreants attacked the enforcement team of the agency and vandalised its operational vehicles.

Egbeyemi lamented that the miscreants are constantly volatile and always attack the enforcement team of the agency while trying to enforce the Lagos State Road Traffic Law of 2012 around Akala and Idi-oro area of Mushin.

He said the miscreants usually attack the enforcement team of the agency around Akala and Idi-Oro areas of Mushin with dangerous weapons such as broken-bottles, cutlasses, stones and iron-rod.

“After briefing the state Commissioner of Police, (CP) Fatai Owoseni, he directed that those arrested miscreants in connection with the attack be immediately charged to court for prosecution,” Egbeyemi said.

He added that no responsible and responsive government would fold its arms and allow innocent citizens of the state to be terrorised. He, therefore, advised miscreants across the state to turn a new leaf and fit into the new developmental plans of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode or leave the state.
