US congratulates  Nigeria at 56, says much still to be done

The United States (US) has congratulated Nigeria on its 56th independence anniversary today, saying there is still much work to be done to provide economic opportunities for all Nigerians.

The United States (US) has congratulated Nigeria on its 56th independence anniversary today, saying there is still much work to be done to provide economic opportunities for all Nigerians.

On behalf of President Barack Obama and the American people, the US Secretary of State, Mr. John Kerry, expressed confidence that Nigerians were working hard to address current national challenges.

A statement by President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, made available to State House correspondents yesterday, quoted Kerry as saying: “On behalf of President Obama and the American people, I congratulate the citizens of Nigeria as you celebrate your Independence Day.
