The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) has urged the Federal Government to make provision for a permanent apartment for the commission to enable it carry out its responsibilities effectively.

Mr. Victor Muruako,

The Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) has urged the Federal Government to make provision for a permanent apartment for the commission to enable it carry out its responsibilities effectively.

At a courtesy visit by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Prosecution, the Acting Chairman, FRC, Victor Chinemerem Muruako said the commission has been discharging its responsibilities from a rented apartment for over 10 years.

Explaining that he has written severally to various government agencies soliciting for a permanent place for the commission to no avail, Muruako said: “Mr. Chairman, where you are sitting is a rented apartment. This commission will be 10 years by December. The commission’s other office in Asokoro is also rented.

“Chairman Sir, I want to beg of you, among all these buildings you are recovering from lobsters, it will make sense to us, if Fiscal Responsibility can be saved the pain and agony of paying rent and being chased around.”

The SSA to the President on Prosecution, Chief Okoi Obono- Obla, assured the commission that government would empower the commission to enable it carry out its functions, as prescribed by the act establishing the commission.
