CNPP wants Obiano to run an all-inclusive government in Anambra

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in Anambra State has called on the state governor, Willie Obiano to run an all-inclusive government in his second term in office.

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in Anambra State has called on the state governor, Willie Obiano to run an all-inclusive government in his second term in office. Obiano was last week re-elected as Anambra State governor for a second term in office after 37 candidates keenly contested the governorship election.  

At a press briefing yesterday in Awka, the chairman of the CNPP, Hon. Kate-Oby Okafor, urged the governor to carry all political parties in the state along in his new cabinet irrespective of political affiliations. 

According to her, such would encourage meaningful inputs in governance and create the confidence that Obiano really extended hands of friendship to all Anambrarians.

Hon Okafor urged him to fulfill his campaign promises by focusing on those critical areas he listed during the electioneering period so as not to betray the confidence reposed on him by the electorate.

“We want the governor to carry all political parties and candidates along while reshuffling his cabinet by March when he must have been sworn in.

“He is now the father of the state, therefore he must cater for the well-being of the entire citizenry regardless of each person’s political affiliations.”

Okafor, who is also the chairman of the Advanced Congress of Democrats (ACD) in the state, commended the political parties and other stakeholders in the election for heeding to the body’s callof eschewing all forms of violence.
