A Non-Governmental Organisation, the Ekiti Development Front (EDF), has boosted Kayode Fayemi’s campaign by empowering 150 residents of Ikere Ekiti, and five other local councils.

Convener of the event, Adeoye Aribasoye, yesterday distributed various items to 90 beneficiaries at Odo Oja, in Ikere-Ekiti.

He promised that more people would benefit, if they vote for Fayemi, adding that some of his initiatives would be restored if they re-elect him.

He listed some of the laudable initiatives as the Youth in Commercial Agriculture Development (YCAD), the Youth Volunteer Scheme, payment of students’ public examination fees, and free education.

Aribasoye said his gesture was to support social amenities, education, economic empowerment and political enlightenment.

He explained that Fayemi’s government inspired the EDF, during his first tenure as governor, and described the APC candidate as the only credible alternative to the desired development in the state.

Among the items donated were washing machines, sewing machines, walking stick and grinding machines.

Hairdressers were given driers, while others received compressors, vulcanizing machines, spraying pumps, generators, day old chicks with feeds, and foodstuff.

The beneficiaries were selected from from Ekiti southwest, Gboyin, Emure, Ise Orun, Ekiti West and Ikere local government areas.
