Oyetola assures of prompt payment of full salaries

Standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Isiaka Oyetola, has promised to sustain the prompt payment of workers full salaries.He made the pledge while hosting journalists at his country home in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Council Area of the state during the Eid-El-Kabir.

Oyetola allayed fears by the state workforce that the workers would not receive the backlog of their salary arrears.

The APC candidate, who is the Chief of Staff to Governor Rauf Aregbesola said: “We are going to pay the money owed the workers. The governor has said it, and of course, we have already started and it will continue.”He promised to grow the state economy through Public Private Partnership (PPP), if elected, and promised to create enabling environment for business to thrive in the state.

Oyetola added that he would expand the financial base of the state through internally generated revenue, and give priority to agriculture, promotion of agro allied industries and tourism.

These, he, said would provide employment for youths, adding that the “the era of waiting for allocation from Abuja is gradually disappearing.”He appealed to the people of the to pay their taxes.
On the primary election through which he emerged as the standard bearer, he disclosed that the direct primary adopted by his party was transparent and sincere.

“I’m happy that I won the election, as nobody has challenged the result of the election. Those who went to court were complaining of the process and not the result,” he said.

Oyetola described the defection of some members from APC to other political parties as normal.He explained: “Defection is a general phenomenon and not peculiar to our state alone. As some people defect from our party, we are also receiving giants from other political parties.”
