Two aspirants in the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary election for Omala/Ankpa/Olamaboro constituency in Kogi State, Mr. Momoh-Yahaya and Mr. Ben Adaji have called on the party national chairman, Mr Adam Oshiomhole, to quickly cancel the House of Reps primary for Omala/Ankpa/Olamaboro Constituency In Kogi State. They made the call during a press conference in Lokoja, Kogi state capital yesterday.

Momoh-Yahaya said that the primaries were conducted in total violation of the party’s guidelines and the directives of the national headquarters. He said he was not allowed to participate in the primaries after paying his nomination fee and duly cleared to contest in the primaries alongside others. He said the primaries were conducted by aides of the state governor alongside ad-hoc staff of the state chapter of the party as against the party’s national electoral committee headed by Mr. Francis Inegbineki. In his own speech, Adaji said the party primaries was held inside State Government Lodge at Ankpa as against the Ankpa Stadium designated for the exercise by the headquarters.

He alleged that a top government functionary came to the venue with armed thugs who started beating and chasing away delegates perceived not to be in their support.“I was rough handled by armed thugs who also beat me up and tore my cloth. What happened was an eyesore, it was impunity of the highest order,” Adaji said.
