A public-private partnership (PPP) agreement has been signed between Isoko North Local Government Council of Delta State and Messrs Nefkon Nigeria Limited for the construction of 50 housing units for its staff and other stakeholders in Ozoro, its headquarters.

Signing the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the partnering firm, Nefkon Nigeria Limited at the conference hall in his office, the council chairman, Emmanuel Egbabor explained that while the council provides the land and other strategic support, Nefkon would provide the funding for the project.

Egbabor further explained that beneficiaries would make 20 percent down payment of the cost of the building while the balance would be spread on a monthly payment for five years.

While thanking the management of Nefkon, Egbabor assured them of the commitment of his administration to continue to create enabling environment for investors to succeed in the local government.

He also used the medium to call on other investors to come and partner with the council as well as those who are willing to establish businesses in the area.

Reacting on behalf of the staff of the council, the Executive members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employee (NULGE), led by its chairman, Mr. Churchill Okeh, thanked the chairman for the great initiative and his concern for the welfare of the staff.

He said: “In the face of this very difficult economy, only leadership built on technical initiative such as this can redeem the people.”
