Undeterred by the low investments in e-Commerce, a home improvement platform has been introduced to revolutionise the construction sector.

The online platform known, as iCyprus is a “one-stop shop, which is to provide furniture and joinery as well as everything needed to complete home improvement” would make its products and services available in addition to physical purchases, which it had offered over the past 20 years to Nigerians.

Managing Director of the Company, Mrs. Alero Imo at the Media Launch of the On-line platform at the company in Yaba, Lagos, disclosed that its products and services would touch every aspect of the furniture, joinery and construction industry for people to get at a cheaper price.

She said: “We stock an extensive variety of products which include tools and safety equipment, furniture and joinery products, bathroom and laundry, adhesives and sealants as well as other affiliated products servicing the construction industry in Nigeria. With our increasing range, you will find anything you need to complete your home or building project at a competitive price.”

“ICyrus products include; doors, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, laundry and bathroom facilities, fasteners and fixings, shop-fitting facilities, tools and safety equipment, adhesives, chemicals and sealants, boards and other accessories”, she stated.

Imo explained that given the rapid growth of iCyrus Online Merchant, it is not only committed to supplying customers with quality products and services but has also created a platform for Do It Yourself (DIY) supplies where everything a customer needs to improve their home or complete building project would be found.

She stated further that intending furniture merchants would be allowed to vent their products on the platform after it must have be certified to be of acceptable standard and based on agreement between the platform operator and the vendor stressing that buyers would find valuable home furniture materials as cheap as N200 to materials worth of N250,000.

According to her, issues such as lack of proper infrastructure, security, trust, loyalty, high cost of delivery system/unreliable distribution and residual distrust of paying online affecting the growth of the business in developing country like Nigeria has already been taken care of by the company, promising that intending customers would have values for their money.

The Online Communication Manager, Ms. Olaolu Beckley said that deliveries are within 72 hours, except for doors, kitchen cabinets and wardrobes, which would be delivered within 14 days post-payment, depending on volume.

She assured that the company has the facility and network to deliver anywhere in Nigeria at no extra cost to the customer. “We will inform customers of assigned tracking ID through a confirmation email,” she explained.
