Firms seal home ownership deal for Nigerians abroad

Towards assisting Nigerians in Diaspora to fulfil their home ownership dreams, two firms Development Company (AMDC), a member of the Alpha Mead Group, last week entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with Meristem Trustees Limited.

Towards assisting Nigerians in Diaspora to fulfil their home ownership dreams, two firms Development Company (AMDC), a member of the Alpha Mead Group, last week entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with Meristem Trustees Limited.

The AMDC-Meristem MDT is coming in the wake of a recent MoU, which AMDC signed with the Nigeria Mortgage Refinancing Corporation (NMRC) to address financing issues faced by current and prospective home buyers.

Essentially, the MoU, under the Meristem Diaspora Trust (MDT), will see AMDC render property development and acquisition services for the benefits of Nigerians in diaspora and Meristem will, in turn, render trust administration services to clients to protect their interests in the property development and acquisition process.

“This new partnership will open Nigerians in the diaspora to a new opportunity to own choice Real Estate assets in any lifestyle residential estate developed by AMDC,” according to Femi Akintunde, Group Managing Director, Alpha Mead Group.

Akintunde, an engineer, said the novel initiative further re-echoes AMDC’s determination to continue to improve the process of home ownership for middle-income Nigerians home and abroad. He said this new relationship with MDT presents another opportunity for to Nigerians in the diaspora who are eager grow their Real estate assets back home.

The Executive Director, Real Estate, Alpha Mead, Damola Akindolire said: “We are not just proud to bring yet another opportunity to our diaspora customers, we are excited about our choice of partner on this initiative. We have no doubt that this AMDC-Meristem relationship will be a game changer, and we are especially delighted about the possibilities it will present to our customers who can now do real estate transactions in Nigeria without the fear of being swindled”.

Akindolire explained that the uncertainty in the oil prices have proven real estate assets are worthy investment options and with Meristem coming to the platform, we will unveil an innovative platform that will not just ease the homeownership process for Nigerians in the diaspora, but also guarantees the authenticity of the transaction.

The Business Development Manager, Meristem, Saheed Bashir, said: “We believe this relationship will resuscitate the needed trust and confident for Real Estate transactions in Nigeria.
