In a renewed commitment to ensure environment sustainability, Nigerian Breweries Plc has donated a set of new laboratory equipment to the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA).

The donation, according to representatives of the company, is in continuation of the company’s support for increased professionalism at the agency and in line with its Brewing a Better World agenda and commitment to winning with Nigeria. The retrofitting of the laboratory was completed last year.

The NB’s Corporate Affairs Adviser, Mr. Kufre Ekanem, stated that as an industrial concern, the company has made a commitment to continuously improve its environmental impact and that as part of this agenda, the company has successfully reduced its water consumption for production by 28 per cent since 2008 and built wastewater treatment plants in eight out of 11 breweries.

Responding, LASEPA general manager, Mr. Adebola Shabi, assured of the judicious use of the new equipment in the quest for a cleaner, more environmentally sustainable practices within the metropolis.
